The mill was mentioned for the first time in 1421. He belonged to the princes of Croy. The current bldg. is more recent: it was built during the 16° centuries. The duke of Arenberg donated the castle, the dependances (the mill included ) and the large park (25 ha. surface) in 1921, to the Catholic University of Leuven. The last miller was Remi-Jean Huyberechts (°1905). He was operative on the mill from 1930 to in 1958. The mill has now arranged as a factorial library of the university. In the years 1990 plans were developed to let the mill generate electricity .
