To the Zwalm in the Flemish ardennen stands the Boembekemill, for many centuries the heart of the local farm economics. In spite of adaptations to the industrial era the wheel has come to a standstill in this water mill in the year 1960. In 2001, became Natuurpunt NPO, which manages the nature area Middenloop Zwalm, owner of the then as a demolition ready considered mill. Meanwhile the NPO Boembeke succeeded to let the mill protect and found resources for the restoration of the historical part.
