Jan Deprez, descending from a well-known miller family of Loppem built here without admission a water mill. This concerned in the Southern fields much water nuisance. With the municipal approval of 4 May 1858 here a wind mill twisted. The family Deprez withdrew himself finally from the miller life and then ten farmers bought the mill. Hence the name farmer mill. Since 1960 he has stood languish unemployed. Possibly he will be restored. In the creek bed of the Waelbeek (witch is called at Jabbeke,The Jabbeke ), under the house, can one still see remainders of the water mill.
