The castle was built in the 18° centuries by the owners of the local iron melting factory. In 1932 it was bought by Pierre Nothomb, senator and also poet and writer. Of the old castle (1642) exist only still the Lodewijk bridge and the Riddergoed from the 19° centuries. Not far from there lie the vestiges of the iron huts, which were built in the 16° centuries, and which were definitively abandoned 300 years later.
