This castle became in 1915, built in neorenaissance style. It was built with material of other old bldg.. Both for the outside architecture and for the interior, the Flemish Renaissance style was applied to in the smallest details . The castle was set up by baron the Trannoy and it became by inheritance, the property of earl the Meeus d'Argenteuil. This castle is not accessible for the public. The first occupants were a baron and a baroness, their name the Trannoy, (hence the Trannoyplein that still exists) What the castle itself concerns, it has been built with demolition materials of the horse stables of late king Léopold. In those days a tram still drove through Tongerlo, and the second hand materials were transported with this tram from Brussels to Tongerlo
