Architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar (1811 - 1880) designed the castle in 1862, for baron Theodore the Viron. This bldg. with predominating vertical lines, is notable by its playful, fairy-like appearance. Red brick, blue hard stone and white sand stone accentuate the picturesque character. The four standing out corner towers with striking pear shaped crowning, give an impressive character to the bldg. According to the tradition, the architect has the complete year calendar integrated in the castle. In 1923, the castle becomes the town hall of Dilbeek.
Protected monument since 1990.
