The mill was built by the abbey of Averbode in Haenven under Veerle (now Laakdal). For this reason he becomes sometimes still called the Haenvense mill . But the merit for the conservation of this heritage can be written on the name of the family Heuvelmans. At the end of WW2, when the grinding no longer rewarded for a long time, moved Fons Heuvelmans , then the mill to here. In 1979, some volunteers took care of the cracking carcass. The first mill festivals were launched. Under the care of Els De Kinderen (head editor of the Belgian Miller) were started of a broad mill functioning in the kempen. The last miller offspring, Karel Heuvelmans, continue drain the mill, for the honor of the landscape.
