The walking park Hof Ter Beke lies to the Terbekehofdreef. In the middle of the park lie the castle Hof Ter Beke, the only castle in Wilrijk with a tower. The position near the large Struisbeek (creek, brook) explains the name of the field. Since 1979 it has been property of the municipality. The bldg. has been protected since 15 December 1982 as a monument, the splendid walking park as a rural sight. The castle felt gradually in decline. A first restoration was stopped because of unlawful demolition of protected parts of the bldg. The work was resumed in 1997, and was later again stopped. A new manager will start supposedly in the course of 2007 with the restoration and the refitting of the castle. Municipality Wilrijk
