Het wandelpark Hof Ter Beke ligt aan de Terbekehofdreef. Middenin het park ligt het kasteel Hof Ter Beke, het enige kasteel in Wilrijk met een toren. De ligging vlakbij de Grote Struisbeek verklaart de naam van het domein. Sinds 1979 is het gemeente-eigendom. Het gebouw is sedert 15 december 1982 beschermd als monument, het prachtige wandelpark als dorpsgezicht.Het kasteel geraakte geleidelijk in verval. Een eerste restauratie werd stopgezet wegens ongeoorloofde afbraak van beschermde delen van het gebouw. De werken werden in 1997 hervat en later opnieuw stopgezet. Een nieuwe uitbater zal vermoedelijk in de loop van 2007 starten met de restauratie en de herinrichting van het kasteel. Gemeente Wilrijk |

The walking park Hof Ter Beke lies to the Terbekehofdreef. In the middle of the park lie the castle Hof Ter Beke, the only castle in Wilrijk with a tower. The position near the large Struisbeek (creek,brook) explains the name of the field. Since 1979 it has been property of the municipality. The bldg. has been protected since 15 December 1982 as a monument, the splendid walking park as a rural sight. The castle felt gradually in decline. A first restoration was stopped because of unlawful demolition of protected parts of the bldg. The work was resumed in 1997, and was later again stopped. A new manager will start supposedly in the course of 2007 with the restoration and the refitting of the castle. |
