De waterburcht 'Hof ter Brugge' ligt op de grens van Erps en Kwerps en de huidige gebouwen dateren uit de 17de eeuw. De poorttoren is 18de-eeuws in een stijl die verwant is met het Franse classicisme: baksteen en zandsteen wisselen elkaar evenwichtig en sierlijk af. Het U-vormige complex was oorspronkelijk volledig met een gracht omringd, maar die werd in de 19de eeuw grotendeels gedempt. Het Hof ter Brugge is beter bekend als het 'rattenkasteel' uit een Nero-album van Marc Sleen. |

The water citadel ‘Hof Ter Brugge’ lies on the border of Erps and Kwerps and the current bldg. date from the 17° centuries. The gateway tower is 18°-centuries in a style which is relative with the French classicism: brick and sand stone vary each other balanced and elegantly. The U-form complex was initially entirely surrounded with a ditch, but it was mainly filled up in the 19° centuries. The Hof Ter Brugge has been known better as the ‘rat castle’ from a Nero-comic book of Marc Sleen. |
