Verblijf van de voormalige heren van de heerlijkheid Ter Welle, die vanaf de 15e eeuw achtereenvolgens toebehoorde aan de geslachten Vilain, Van Pottelberghe, Del Plano en Foullon d’Anteville. In 1723 wordt het kasteel eigendom van jonkvrouw Anne-Françoise Piers (1664-1751). Zij brengt er haar school voor arme kinderen en weeskinderen in onder. Bij het ontstaan van de "burgerlijke hospicen" in 1796, neemt deze administratie het Hof ter Welle als instelling van weldadigheid over. In 1799 wordt het domein overgedragen aan het Bureel van Weldadigheid, het huidige OCMW. In 1974 werden Hof ter Welle en omgeving beschermd als monument en als landschap. In 1978 kocht de gemeente Beveren het domein. De restauratie van het kasteel werd in 1998 aangevat. De eerste fase (daken en gevels) werd eind 2000 voltooid. Anna Piersdreef |

Stay of the former lords of the lusciousness Ter Welle, which to the lines Vilain, Van Pottelberghe,Del Plano and Foullon d’ Anteville successively belonged to as from the 15° centuries . In 1723, the castle becomes property of maid Anne-Françoise Piers (1664-1751). They categorizes its school for poor children and orphan children. At the nascency of the civil hospices in 1796, this administration takes over the court Ter Welle as an institution of charity. In 1799, the field is transferred to the Office of Beneficence, the current OCMW. In 1974 Hof Ter Welle and surroundings was protected as a monument and as landscape. In 1978 bought the municipality Beveren the field. The restoration of the castle was seized in 1998. The first phase (roofs and gables) was accomplished end 2000. |
