The right arm of the Dijle streamed in Leuven by the watergate, which was formed by the Jansenius tower and the tower on the other bank, which were linked with each other in the 12°centuries. One of the turrets was called to Jansenius, a professor to the university. In 1618,he built 2 deepenings on the existing tower to establish his study there .The basis of the tower is however much older. He formed a component of the interior ring wall, which protected Leuven in the 12° centuries. Moreover, he stands on the first large crotch of the Dijle.
