Deze kasteelsite ( ook Madoetskasteel genoemd ) is een opmerkelijke illustratie van drie eeuwen woon en leefcultuur van de gegoede burgerij. Typologisch vormt het in 1610 gebouwde kasteel een zeldzaam bewaard voorbeeld van een lusthof in de vorm van een kleine, volledig in Diegemse steen opgetrokken waterburcht. Vrij uitzonderlijk is dat van dit bouwwerk ook eigentijdse iconografie (begin 17de eeuw) bewaard bleef. De historische gelaagdheid toont zich ook in het interieur met zijn 18 de eeuwse monumentale trap en merkwaardige huiskapel. De intact bewaarde historiserende stoffering uit 1908 sluit stilistisch aan bij het globaal beeld van het exterieur van het kasteel. Sellaerstraat, 42 1820 Melsbroek |

This castle site (also Madoetskasteel called) is a remarkable illustration of three centuries lives and living culture of the rich bourgeoisie. Typologic forms the in 1610 built castle a rare kept example of a pleasure court in the form of small, entirely in Diegems stone accelerated water citadel . Rather exceptional is that of this construction work also contemporary iconography (beginning 17° centuries) kept remained. The historical stratification shows himself also in the interior with its 18 centuries monumental staircase and remarkable house chapel. The intact kept historic soft furnishings from 1908 dovetails stylistically the overall picture of the exterior of the castle. |
