Het residentieel kasteel werd gebouwd omstreeks 1800 en charmeert vooral door de harmonieuse opbouw die zowel de buitenarchitectuur als het interieur beheerst. Het gebouw synthetiseert drie Franse bouwstijlen; de directoire-stijl, de Louis XVI en de empire-stijl. Op de middenrisaliet staan de Latijnse spreuken "Parva sed apta" (bescheiden maar bekwaam) en "Parva domus, magna quies" (een optrekje in een rustige omgeving). Vrijwel uniek is het rococo-stucwerk, met de voorstelling van de vier jaargetijden, boven de poorten van de 18de-eeuwse zijvleugels. In dit kasteel werd in 1854 graaf J.-Th de Renesse geboren, gouverneur van de provincie Limburg van 1919 tot 1928. Guigoven |

The residential castle was built around 1800 and charmes especially by the harmonious advancement which masters both outside architecture and the interior. The bldg. synthesize three French architectural styles; the directoire style, the Louis XVI and the empire style. On middle risaliet stand the Latin proverbs Parva sed apta (modestly but competently) and Parva domus, magna quies (a cottage in quiet surroundings). Nearly unique is the rococo stucco work, with the image of the four seasons, above the gateways of 18°-centuries side wings.
