De naam Den Brandt duikt voor het eerst op in 1396 en verwijst naar een afgebrande plek in het bos. In die tijd was dat een populaire manier om bosgebied om te toveren tot landbouwgrond. Het duurt nog tot 1582 voor er sprake is van een 'Hof ten Brande', wat het eerste kasteel moest voorstellen.
Dit kasteel stond trouwens op een andere plek in het park dan de parel die we nu kennen.

Het huidige kasteel werd gebouwd in 1790 volgens de toen heersende Louis XVI-stijl. De familie Della Faille, naar wie een laan is genoemd, was de eerste eigenaar. In 1910 neemt de familie Kreglinger het bouwwerk over en zwaait er de plak tot 1962. Toen werd ook het kasteel eigendom van de stad.

The name Den Brandt emerges for the first time in 1396 and refers to a burned down spot in the bunch. In that time was that a popular manner for bunch area to work magic to agriculture ground. It lasts still up to 1582 for there is talk of a Hof Ten Brande, what had to present the first castle.
This castle stood as a matter of fact on another spot in the park then the pearl which we know now.
The current castle was built in 1790, according to the then dominating Louis XVI-style. The family Della Faille, to which an alley has been called, was the first owner. In 1910, the family Kreglinger takes over the castle and stays up to 1962. Then became the castle property of the city .
