Langs de Baron de Gieylaan (nr. 165-169) zien we het statige kasteel "Grand Noble", net vóór de grens met Sint-Denijs-Westrem. Dit voormalig "Goed ten Abeele" was ooit in het bezit van de Gentse Sint-Pietersabdij. Ze gaf het in leen aan onderandere de Gentse patriciër Geraard de Duivel.
De naam Grand Noble duikt pas op in de de verkoopakte van 1763, wanneer het huis van plaisance aangekocht wordt door ridder Soenen. Via erfenis komt het in 1802 in het bezit van de familie De Giey, die het nog altijd bewoont. Alles aan het kasteel is 19de-eeuws, het park, de vijver, de meeste dreven. Het oude landhuis wordt tussen 1850 en 1860 vervangen door het imponerend neoclassicistisch gebouw. Ook de toegangspoorten zijn toen vemieuwd. Ze dragen het wapenschild en de veelzeggende familieleuze: Qui s'y frotte, s'y pique

Along the baron the Gieylaan (no. 165-169) we see the stately castle Grand Noble, exactly by the border with Sint-Denijs-Westrem. This former “Goed ten Abeele” was ever in the possession of the Pieters abbey of Ghent. Them gave it in fief to a.o. the Ghent patrician Geraard the devil.
The name Grand Noble emerges just in the sale certificate of 1763, when the house of plaisance is bought by knight Soenen. By means of inheritance it comes in 1802, in the possession of the family the Giey, which it inhabits still. Everything to the castle are 19° centuries, the park, the pond, the most lanes. The old country house is replaced between 1850 and 1860 by the impressing neo classicistic bldgs. Also the access gateways are then renewed. They carry the weapon shield and the significant family motto: Qui s'y frotte, s'y pique
