The castle was built between 1916 and 1918. But all much in former days, in the 16° centuries, became the place and the associated field described as’a playhouse with court, hollies and thorn hedges around’. In 1868, the domain came by a marriage in the hands of the family Havenith. They let build the current castle and continued live in it to the sale in 1963, to the then municipality Hoboken. |

Maar al veel vroeger, in de 16de eeuw, werden het pand en het bijbehorend domein beschreven als ‘een speelhuys met hof, hulsten ende doornhagen rontomme’. In 1868 kwam het landgoed door een huwelijk in handen van de familie Havenith. Zij lieten het huidige kasteel bouwen en bleven erin wonen tot de verkoop in 1963 aan de toenmalige gemeente Hoboken.
