The original castle is appropriate in a fairy tale world. Set up on the top of a hillock it testifies of an unbridled taste of the architects from the previous century for medieval constructions, what one can read to the many turrets, staircase gables, doors and windows in all angles and bizarre, wringed drainage pipes. For the rebuilding of the castle, also known as The castle with a thousand windows ,signed the Ghent architect Auguste Van Assche. It became to outside stay rebuilt between 1895 and 1900. Under the influence of Flemish-Gothic influences of that time let Eggermont Van Assche cover the castle entirely with hardcore (limestone). He left the old tower to raise, as a result of which one on altitude of thirty meter access gets to a terrace, where one has a breathtaking view. The adjacent octagon tower is 45 meters high. The castle counts 49 chambers. The castle is no longer in the original state is decayed and uninhabited. The stable, the farm, dairy, riding school is however, in good state.
