Het Kasteel van Wijer heeft zwaar geleden door de jaren heen. Momenteel rest enkel nog de vestingtoren met neogotische kantelen, gebouwd in 1657. Zoals de aanpalende hoeve met trapgevels, is het herbouwd in Maaslandse renaissancestijl. Het kasteelcomplex bevindt zich op drie gemeentes: het kasteel zelf in Wijer, de hoeve in Kozen en de schuur met bijgebouwen in Stevoort. De grens loopt dwars over de koer. |

The castle of Wijer has suffered heavily through the past years . At present rest only still the blockhouse tower with neo-gothic battlements, built in 1657. Such as the adjacent farm with staircase gables, it has been rebuilt in Meuse land Renaissance style. The castle complex is situated on three municipalities: the castle itself in Wijer, the farm in Kozen and the barn with outbuildings in Stevoort. The border runs transversely across the courtyard. |
