This mill was built in 1797, in Olmen by a water mill owner as a response to the construction of another wind mill in the municipality. Already in 1804, the mill was sold to a family in Lommel, which let rebuilt the mill in 1809, near the centre of Lommel. In 1960, the municipality bought the mill and moved him to the hamlet Kattenbos. On that place, the mill never twisted, until he was restored in 1988, and made capable to grind. The trees around the mill obstructed however the good functioning of the mill. Since 2003 the mill has stopped turning. In 2006,it was decided to move the mill again within the municipality, to a heathland plain, where he can work optimally.
