De burcht van Lavaux-Ste-Anne stamt uit de 13e eeuw. Oorspronkelijk was ze een uitkijktoren en pas later kreeg ze haar huidige vorm, met haar slottoren en haar slotgrachten.

Pas in de 17e eeuw worden de luxueuze appartementen van het binnenhof en de toegangspoort in renaissancestijl gebouwd.

In het begin van de 20e eeuw opent de vzw ’Ligue des Amis du Château de Lavaux-Ste-Anne’ de poorten voor het publiek en brengt ze er musea in onder. In 2004 zorgt ze voor de restauratie van de gebouwen en de herinrichting van de musea, volledig geïntegreerd in het natuurlijke en landelijke karakter van de Famenne.

The citadel of Lavaux-Ste-Anne descend from the 13e centuries. Initially it was a watchtower and just later she got its current form, with its lock tower and its moats.
