The water mill was property of the lords of Lire, which sold the mill in 1341 to the Whitelords of the abbey of Grimbergen. The current bldg. was built in the 17° centuries and was repaired in 1762, (the year shines on the frontage). In 1977, a restoration happened. Now is the mill part of the museum for older techniques. In the mill in the period of 1 April up to 1 October on 1st and 4th Saturday of the month, demonstrations are given.
