This old water mill was for the first time mentioned in 1299 as the property of the Benediktijnen abbey of Ename. The Maldergem mill would been a saw mill and former also an oil mill. In 1871, a steam machine had been placed and since 1871 the Maldergemmolen had done exclusively service as a corn mill. Around 1975 a type of youth-house was brought under. In 1980, the mill was an antique shop , now it is a restaurant.
