The water mill was built initially in wood in the year 1324 in substitution for the previous mill. Current brick bldg. was built in 1678. In March 1928, Alfons Van Elsen reconstructed the bldg. to a diamond polish atelier. in 1951,Jozef Van Elsen succeeded his father as miller and kept the grain mill in operation up to 1970. The diamond polish atelier was converted to self-laundry. In 1970,the lock disappeared and the pond was cut off, as a result of which the steel scoop wheel came definitively to a stop.
