The noble fief Meylandt has a long history and is for the first time mentioned in 1385.It is then called "Court ter Boeckt". "Milandt" is first mentioned in 1603. In 1715, the estate came by marriage in possession of knight Arnold the Theux. He let rebuilt the country house to a luxurious castle. In 1842, it was considerably modified by Minister of State Bartelémy Théodore earl de Theux de Meylandt. The current form, in neo-classicistic style, dates of the last rebuilding by its son Albert, earl de Theux de Meylandt in 1907. The municipality Heusden bought the estate in 1959.
