In the old mill, which as a matter of fact of the uppershot type is, in end 15° centuries grain were already ground. This mill has an associated house which as a matter of fact still is inhabited. The mill part is however no longer in use. All this lies in splendid forest and marsh area. Age-long this was the only mill in As . In 1715, the municipality built a second mill upstream of the old mill. This mill, The Mieleke called, now the study of history of local area and its folklore museum is located here. Also sometimes temporary art exhibitions are kept.
