This mill, situated on the Dijle at Rotselaar, has been a precursor of first industrial flour-millings and has thereby already a long history behind the back. The current bldg. offers an overview of the different construction phases from the 16° centuries up to present. He was socio-economic of very large importance for Rotselaar but touched by increasing industrialization, in decline. In 1902, the two present water wheels were replaced by a turbine of the type of Schneider-Jacquet. This precursor of the Francis-turbine stands established in a water chamber. Between 1985 and 1994 the mill and the mill complex were restored by ECOWATT plc. On this moment seven families are living in the mill and electricity is produced with the renovated turbine (capacity: 88 kWe). The central uses the water strength to make electricity and provide sufficient energy for 191 families. Because of this, the emission of NOX- and CO2 is avoided - respectively to 138 kilogrammes/year and 248 tons/year
