The Ezaart mill was built in 1856 by Karel Heylen from Geel and in 1857, bought by the family Willems. In 1957, he became unusable because of a storm and in 1984, was restored. Since 1960 this construction work has been a protected monument.Former burgomaster Sus Luyten and a number of citizens started the NPO Friends of the Ezaart mill. Thanks to their efforts, the mill could be restored in 1984. The mill is capable to grind again since then.
