	Montquintin is een hoog op een heuvel gelegen gehucht. De ruïnes van Hontheim roepen de herinnering op aan Jean-Nocolas van Hontheim, hulpbisschop van Trier, in de 18e eeuw een groot kerkelijk figuur, hij overleed er in 1790 op 89 jarige leeftijd. Het kasteel werd in de 10e eeuw opgericht, maar vaak verwoest, een laatste keer in 1931 door brand. De dikke middeleeuwse vestingmuren zijn nog steeds indrukwekkend. deze burcht werd een eerste maal verwoest door een legerbende van Karel Amboise in 1480. Onder bevel van de hertog van Orléans in 1542.Onder bevel van maarschalk Turenne in 1647 en onder bevel van generaal Jordan in 1794. 	Montquintin have been lain a high on a hillock hamlet.
