De Banmolen (Le Moulin banal) van Braine-le-Château. Gelegen vlak bij het kasteel, wordt deze molen vermeld als een gift verkregen in 1226. De gebouwen vinden hun oorsprong gedeeltelijk in de XVI eeuw ( de voorgevel) en meer bepaald in de tweede helft van de XVII eeuw ( achterkant). In de middeleeuwen en onder het oud stelsel waren de brouwerij, de oven en de molen in 'de ban', wat wil zeggen dat zij deel uitmaakten van het domein van de leenheer. Dit domein bezit nog steeds een schoepenrad in goede staat, en die nog steeds het mekanisme in werking zet. Dit oord is geklasseerd sinds 1954, de molen sinds 1970.
