La Tannerie of Cierreux were built in the first quarter of XIXe century by Mathieu Beaupain to direct immediacy of the old mill which he had obtained in 1808. A first phase of occupation remains partially perceptible Eastern. The two first levels which contain a bark mill, have been built in hard stone. The three higher levels, which have been probably reserved for the stock of the skins, have been built in compartment work. The bldg. has really served during almost a century, i.e. up to in 1912, to the industry of tannage. A change in 1912, for the use of the house essentage have replaced brick on three gables.
