Het neoclassicistisch kasteel staat op de plaats van de voormalige benedictinessenabdij van Nonnemielen. Deze abdij stond oorspronkelijk bij de stadswallen van Sint-Truiden maar werd in 1231 naar deze plaats overgebracht. In de 18de eeuw vormde de abdij een langwerpig complex waarvan nu alleen de hoeve met poortgebouw overblijft. Het kasteel dateert van ca. 1850 en bestaat uit een herenhuis en een 18de –eeuws poortgebouw. Metsterenweg 133 |

The neoclassicistic castle stands at the place of the former benedictinesses-abbey of Nonnemielen. This abbey stood original at the town ramparts of Sint-Truiden but was in 1231 moved to this place. In the 18°centuries the abbey formed an elongated complex of which now only the farm with port buildings remains.
