This castle, located to the Mortselsesteenweg 91, existed already in 1558. Then it was sold by the children of Balthasar van Immerseel to Jacob van der Heyden, knight and nobleman. In 1588 the field is called ‘t Goet at Gruenenberghe. On the Ferraris card of 1770 it has got the name of rat nest. The most known owner was undoubtedly the family Spinola. This banker family was possibly the richest family which has had Hove ever on its territory. The Spinola's (initially from Genua) lived in Antwerp and used Gruenenberghe as an outside stay. In 1807, it came in possession of the family Lambrechts. After the death of Jozef Lambrechts the field was parceled out. The castle and a part of the original field continued preserved untouched among a villa district. Hove
