Guigoven, founded in the Frankish time, was in the middle ages a manor of Loon , of which the lords lived on the Red Castle . In first half of the 17th century a decayed water citadel was rebuilt to a castle in Maasland Renaissance, and underwent for its part adaptations in (neo)classicistic style. Now there is a horeca business in the castle and on term tourist-accommodation and recreation will be added.
