In the 13de centuries, when for the first time was talked about this mill, the mill was called ‘at Heart’ . After a lot of periods of decline and rebuilding and innumerable change of owners, the grain-mill came at the end of the 17° centuries in the hands of Gillis Scherpenberg. He rebuilt the mill above The Pass, as he was then called, and left two mill wheels at the same time turn: one for the grain-mill and one for the vol mill. In 1762, Mathias of den Bosch became miller and built a new mill house there. The Akermill, such as he also still becomes called, came by means of Lambertus Somers in 1844, in the hands of the family Stulens.Despite of protection as a monument in 1986, has happened still no restoration. The mill becomes more and more a ruin.
